Creating with a Purpose Using Recycled Items (Skill Build)

Led by mixed media artist and Teaching Artist, Marilyn Rodriguez-Behrle, this free workshop offers ways to create with a purpose using recycled materials! Participants will create eco-friendly nameplate art centered around identity and view of self.

Marilyn Rodriguez-Behrle, Mixed Media Artist and Teaching Artist

Marilyn Rodriquez-Behrle is a mixed media Latina community artist who has resided in the heart of North Philadelphia. Marilyn is an accomplished art educator and artist who has taught in Philadelphia for over 45 years.

"My art inspires me to reflect on my environment and my community. I am a green artist. Most of my paintings and drawings are manifested through unconventional materials like paper bags and other objects. The materials I select are often chosen to fit within the context of the subjects. My works reference lost souls who bestow their constant struggle with mental illness, drug addictions, and social handicaps." - Marilyn Rodriquez-Behrle

ArtWell Skill Builds

Skill Builds are a monthly workshop dedicated to sharing a human-centered and creative approach to community work. On the first Saturday of every month, ArtWell hosts a guest facilitator to teach on a range of topics from creating multiple entry points to activities, identifying maltreatment of youth, event planning, giving and receiving feedback, and more. Regardless of vocation, career focus, or level of experience, ArtWell welcomes all who seek to be a part of a learning community.

We hope to see you at the ArtWell office on Saturday, December 7th! RSVP at the link below.
