A lover of African American history, art, literature and culture, Valerie understands how all can be used as tools to heal and help celebrate others. Valerie has been working with ArtWell for the past 3-4 years starting out as a volunteer and quickly working her way up to becoming a teaching artist. Within ArtWell, Valerie works with the Art of Growing Leaders and We the Poets, and aspires to spread love and make an impact of inspiration, hope, social change, one step and person at a time!

Outside of ArtWell, Valerie is a docent at the African American Museum in Philadelphia and the Church of the Advocate. Valerie holds a Masters in Social Work.
