ArtWell supports young people and their communities through multidisciplinary arts expression, education, and creative reflection to celebrate their strengths, thrive while facing complex challenges, and awaken their dreams. Since 2000, ArtWell has had the honor of working with hundreds of amazing partners including schools, libraries, diverse faith-based organizations, and health and social-service providers to serve an average of 1500 students per year across the Greater Philadelphia Region.
“I love that the artists were patient. They understood that the youth have had difficult experiences and worked hard to find avenues for self-expression.”
-Laura Vega, CHOP Violence Prevention Specialist
Our partners seek our engagement to support students in the following areas:
I can’t wait to unlock the surprise of my heart.
White stripes of mystery carry my happiness
and tackle down my red anger.
– Laila, 5th Grade
Through writing, music, poetry, visual arts, storytelling, performance, spoken-word, and other art forms, students discuss personal and social issues, explore their emotions and identities, and develop deeper cultural understandings.
Professional agencies and representatives can also experience the transformative power of art, creative expression and reflection through ArtWell@Work.
