ArtWell at the Zoo!
On Sunday, July 10th we kicked-off our 10th Anniversary Celebration with free music and art activities for children and families visiting the Philadelphia Zoo. From 11-3pm over 100 people were engaged in mask-making, painting, poetry writing, music and dance. Information about ArtWell was distributed, including our new logo and website, and lots of fun was had by all. Check out this news coverage of the event:
HeartBeat at PIC Camp Kids Place
Our HeartBeat percussion artists had a blast working with kids of all ages at the Parent-Infant Center of West Philadelphia’s summer camp in June, July and August. Looks like the youth had a pretty good time too!
Art of Growing Up at Face to Face
In July we returned to Face to Face in Germantown to work with their youth leaders. In the Art of Growing Up, they created beautiful masks and sheilds, and wrote poetry about who are they are and want to become.
You can see some their work in the video created by Face to Face.
The Counselors in Training listened to their elders share words or widsom and encouragement at the culminating event.
Thanks to all of our community partners for a fantastic summer, creating art and change! Time to get ready for many upcoming programs this fall. Stay tuned for updates!
